Weekend in Indiana

I was in Indiana during a looong weekend- Thursday until Monday! It was really great to see everyone again and to go to familiar places like Runcible Spoon, Bear's Place, Copper Cup, Bart Villa and the music school. I also got to see my parents on Sunday, which was nice too. I went by myself and spent time with my girlfriends so I almost felt like I was single again! It also felt like I was transported back into time, except everyone's lives are changing a lot, including mine. I had a lot of fun shopping and doing girl stuff again though. It's nice to do that kind of stuff with good old friends. It was also fun to watch the Office and hang out with everyone at Eugene's.
I never thought that I'd go to Indiana and experience an earthquake! It woke me up when I felt my futon shaking me, and heard plates clattering in the kitchen. Mama Fu and Sara also were woken up and I was so excited that I couldn't go back to sleep afterwards! It was pretty creepy- I haven't really felt that powerless before.
But it was nice to come home, see Mike again, and be back in my apartment. I think that every time I leave DC I am more excited about coming home, and DC is feeling more like home. I never thought it would feel that way, but I'm glad that it is.

End of a busy week

I haven't been on Xanga for so long that it took me forever to figure out how to write a new entry! I think that they changed that on the site...anyways I found it at last so I'm here!
Tomorrow is Mike's recital at Truro and we are playing for our friends. I feel unprepared, but hope that it will turn out ok and that we'll have fun doing it anyways.
This week was hard since Mike was pretty busy and I didn't see him very much, but I was busy too and got a lot of work done. I'm feeling kind of weird these days, though- I'm thirsty ALL the time and am easily worn out. My doctor put me on antibiotics for a week. It was hard to practice when I felt so tired. I tried to do a lot of exercise this week but then I injured my knee.
Valentines Day morning was nice! Mike put some things around the house- some Calpis and Japanese candies. We've been too busy to go out for a nice dinner, but plan to do so once we get a night off. =)
Well, I gotta go to sleep, early morning ahead of me!

Back in the Swing of Things

It's nice to get back into the routine of going to school to practice. I'm really thankful that I can work on Sundays, Mondays and Saturdays, and don't have anything during the day on any other days of the week. My evenings are busy, but I am able to get all of my practicing done during the morning and afternoon, and then be done with it for the day. It also helps when Mike is working during the same time.
It has really helped me to have this kind of consistency. For the past few years, I've had a lot of trouble practicing on a regular basis since I had a lot of stuff going on. It's nice to have simplicity.
Anyways- the weather was SO warm today- in the 70s!!! It felt like spring. I spent some time outside, enjoying sitting on the bench with only a light jacket on.
So those are my thoughts for the day...I'm going to get on the metro and go to Brookland for Bible Study now. =) See ya later gaters!

It has been a while!

Wow. OK so a lot has changed- I'm older, married and living in Maryland now! hehe
But even when I've been away from writing in Xanga, I've been keeping up with my friend's Xangas. I have another journal on Blogger, but I thought that it is only fair to copy and put the blogs up here so you guys can all see what's going on with me.
Here goes...

First week of school

After a loooong break, it's nice to get back into the routine of going to school every day. This is not too different from what I have been doing, since I have been going to school to practice- but the big difference is that I don't see Mike as much as I used to. He is teaching a lot, so while he is teaching I'll practice at school, and then we'll go home and have dinner together. We plan to keep our evenings free so we can spend time at home together. It works out well this way, I think! I'm thankful that the schedule works well for the two of us.
The last few days have been challenging since our car broke down. We've been relying on buses and the metro to get around. Mike's been having a harder time since he has a further commute than I do. I just need to get on the university bus that stops right in front of our apartment. But I missed it this morning and had to walk 45 minutes...oh well!
Last week I slipped on the ice and fell, putting most of my weight on my butt and my right hand. Ouch! It resulted in a minor wrist sprain. Because of that, I haven't been able to practice very much lately.
But I am thankful to God for looking out for us and providing for us during this time. And I am excited to be back in school again! I really like being a student.

I just saw Finding Nemo for the first time! Yesterday I finished watching Home Alone for the first time. Both of them were good, except I thought that Dory was annoying. I feel like I'm catching up on all the movies that I missed! =)
Also, I'm really excited that it is now September! I love walking around in the fall evenings, like I was able to tonight.
